A vacancy exists for the position of Processing Support Specialist within the Electric Repair and Test Facility (ERTF) department. Please see the attached job description and outline for the interview.

Normal Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum two years'experience in an administrative support position or in the Utility Business
  • Must possess a High School diploma, or GED equivalent
  • Must have experience in a high-paced, structured environment
  • Must have knowledge of administrative practices and procedures
  • Must have computer proficiency (intermediate MS office skills, i.e., outlook, excel and word)
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with Company personnel and customers
  • Must possess basic math, computer skills
  • Ability to successfully manage difficult customer conversations, using empathy and effective listening skills
  • Ability to demonstrate organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work harmoniously with fellow workers
  • Ability to work in office 5 days per week

There will be a two-part testing procedure required for this position. The first step is a computer-based test followed by a behavioral based interview. Part one (1) must be passed to progress to part two (2).

We are providing a study outline to prepare for both the computer-based testing and the behavioral based interview. The outline is designed to maximize test results by centralizing study time in the areas listed below:

Behavioral Based Interview

The interview is a behavioral-based interview. In this process, we believe past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior, and behavior that is more recent is a better predictor of future behavior than older behavior, and long-standing trends are better predictors of behavior than isolated incidents. We therefore have patterned the questions during the interview to solicit behavior patterns that indicate with higher predictability whether the candidate can perform the job as required. This type of interview is different from those you may have taken in the past.

Position Description
This job classification processes transaction documents of a specialized nature according to established department/Company procedures and guidelines. This classification also performs general clerical work as required.

Position-Related Responsibilities

  • Gather, research and verify information and prepare and process transaction documents through the assigned department's established administrative systems and guidelines.
  • Typical documents include drawings, contracts, accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices, payroll time sheets and library records.
  • Coordinate processing activities with other units, departments or outside agencies as needed to complete transactions.
  • Track transactions as they progress through the system, follow up on targeted completion dates and investigate incomplete transactions.
  • Respond to oral and written customer and vendor inquiries about transaction processing guidelines and that status of specific transactions.
  • Establish, post, balance and maintain manual and automated record keeping systems.
  • Typical specialized databases or spreadsheets include accounting, payroll, enterprise content management, and library and archives systems.
  • Establish and maintain files for permanent documentation, including records for audit trails, and historical, operation and statistical reporting requirements.
  • Provide support and backup to mailroom personnel.
  • Perform assigned work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Company practices and procedures.
  • This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.
