Job Description
The Sr Cybersecurity Identity Engineer will play a key role in driving T-Mobile's Zero Password identity verification program. This role focuses on supporting and enhancing secure, scalable identity verification and workforce IAM capabilities as part of the broader cybersecurity program. The engineer partners across teams to implement modern identity assurance solutions that enable secure access to sensitive systems and data.
This role will use modern GenAI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) to accelerate secure engineering practices, automate IAM workflows, and improve development efficiency while maintaining strong security controls.
Job Responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities - Leads identity verification, compliance, and risk assessment activities for workforce IAM initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.
- Implements and improves identity security solutions, including MFA, identity proofing, and access controls, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Contributes to the design and enhancement of identity workflows and deployment methodologies to improve efficiency and security outcomes.
- Identifies identity security needs and recommends practical, scalable solutions aligned with established architecture.
- Supports the implementation, testing, and monitoring of identity systems and controls.
- Collaborates with application support, engineering, privacy, risk management, HR, and legal teams to align identity assurance with business and regulatory requirements.
- Supports lifecycle management of identity-related security policies, including development, review, implementation, and ongoing maintenance.
- Implements identity-focused security initiatives and contributes to broader cybersecurity projects.
- Mentors team members on identity technologies, access management concepts, and IAM best practices.
- Leverages GenAI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) to prototype, develop, and optimize IAM integrations, automation, and security controls.
- Applies secure coding and prompt engineering practices when using GenAI tools to ensure outputs meet enterprise security, privacy, and compliance standards.
- Continuously evaluates and incorporates emerging AI-assisted development capabilities to improve engineering velocity and security posture.
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of related work experience OR Advanced degree with 3 years of related experience (Required)
- Acceptable areas of study include Computer Science or Information Technology. (Required)
- 4-7 years Experience with security related software and/or business process design (Preferred)
- 4-7 years Experience in technical project management and leading multi-functional solution design teams (Preferred)
- 4-7 years Expertise in network information security, including Firewall policy design, SSL Certificate management, and vulnerability analysis mitigation (Preferred)
- Preferred experience in IAM program delivery, identity verification technologies, or access management solutions.
- Understanding of encryption, tokenization, and identity protocols (e.g., SAML, OAuth, OIDC) (Preferred)
- Experience applying AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development, automate workflows, and improve code quality while adhering to secure development practices(Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Cybersecurity Advanced understanding of security architecture, security technologies, systems design, integration, and networking. (Required)
- Problem Solving Innovative problem-solving skills with the proven ability to exercise flexibility and judgment. (Required)
- Communication Excellent executive communication skills (oral and written) including presentation skills and demonstrated ability to present at all organizational levels. (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (Preferred)
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) (Preferred)
- Certified in Risk & Informaitonal Systems Control (CRISC) (Preferred)

Base Pay Range: $103,400 - $186,400
Corporate Bonus Target: 15%
The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
