Application Window Open date: April 7, 2026 Next review date: Wednesday, Apr 22, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Thursday, Oct 7, 2027 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Assistant Professional Researcher - Prakash Lab The Prakash Lab at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is actively seeking a highly motivated Assistant Researcher to join our dynamic team in exploring the nuanced mechanisms of sterile and infectious inflammation at the interface of the innate immune response. This role is pivotal for individuals eager to contribute to groundbreaking research that bridges clinical insights and laboratory investigations. The selected candidate will focus on experimental studies concerning the generation of damage markers in trauma and ischemia-reperfusion (IR) injury, the activation and function of inflammasomes in lung IR injury, and the interaction between the gut microbiome and lung inflammatory responses. Utilizing our established mouse microsurgical models of traumatic lung injury, the Assistant Researcher will conduct rigorous experiments, collect and analyze data, and collaborate closely with both the lab team and Dr. Prakash to advance our understanding of immune response mechanisms in clinical settings.
