The Control-M Architect (Enterprise Workload Automation) will be responsible for managing and maintaining all Epson scheduling environments. This includes supporting 24/7 system uptime, upgrades and new technology implementations, and system decommissioning.

You will create, manage and implement automated job scheduling and workload automation processes ensuring the smooth execution of batch jobs and application workflows across various platforms

Specifically, you will build, define, schedule, deploy, manage, and monitor workflows at scale from a single view, ensuring visibility and reliability, and improving SLAs. You will need to be comfortable multitasking to reactively address issues affecting users and service

This is a remote position based in the United States. You must reside within the contiguous U.S..

The successful candidate will perform tasks including but not limited to the following functions:

  • Monitor, notify, fix, and escalate alarms related to systems
  • Adhere to the daily shift and available On-Call schedules and comply with all company and department policies
  • Create and work on incidents, service requests, and changes as well as following the Escalation and Notification Process
  • Develop and maintain documentation
  • Gather requirements from developers and stakeholders to create job flows, calendar requirements, and scheduling criteria.
  • Constantly track Control-M activities within BMC and plan appropriately to ensure all supported systems are current
  • Interface with Epson resources to support all ongoing and future projects related to infrastructure, upgrades, replatforming, and implementation of new technologies from a Control-M perspective
  • Support IT maintenance and security remediation of applications and systems.
  • Work with business units, Systems Engineering and third parties to research, design, test and implement new technologies as necessary

Requirements:

  • 10+ plus years working as a Control-M Administrator
  • Enterprise job scheduling experience; controlling unattended background program execution for production and non-production jobs. (Example: Control-M)
  • Experience developing, testing and deploying Control-M API modules
  • Experience with Control-M Plug-Ins such as SAP, MFT, Informatica
  • ITIL based Ticketing systems. Example: Ivanti Service Manager
  • Must have experience with Linux and Windows systems
  • Should have extensive background with multiple major Control-M upgrades performed
  • Experience with system automation. Example: Ansible
  • Familiar with cloud hosting. Example: AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Network infrastructure experience
  • BMC Control-M Certification

Job Responsibilities:

  • Will manage and monitor all aspects of Enterprise Job Scheduler Control-M execution for production and non-production jobs
  • Perform system administration of Enterprise Job Scheduler Control-M activities which include resource management as well as perform monthly security remediation
  • Gather requirements from developers and stakeholders to create job flows, calendar requirements, and scheduling criteria
  • Provide quality control for job creation/changes review Enterprise Job Scheduler job reports
  • Orchestrate complex workflows across hybrid environments
  • Diagnoses, isolates, and resolves problems with supported technologies, products, and services. Identifies and performs documented root cause analysis
  • Participate and manage key infrastructure projects as an individual, with the team members of the department, and with Epson's business groups

The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $72.66 and $95.38 (equivalent to $150,508 to $198,390 per year based on 2,080 hours). Please note that this position's salary range may include multiple levels. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
