S&ME is seeking a collaborative, forward-thinking Geotechnical Services Manager to join our team with relocation to our Greensboro, North Carolina office.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management



  • Lead a multidisciplinary geotechnical team and oversee daily service line operations
  • Manage project delivery, safety, quality, financial performance, HR, and risk
  • Mentor, train and develop staff in fostering a culture of collaboration and engagement


Business Planning & Strategy



  • Collaborate with the Office Principal and leadership team to develop and execute annual business plans
  • Contribute to long-term growth strategies for the office and regional markets


Project Management



  • Oversee geotechnical exploration and engineering projects of varying size and complexity
  • Prepare proposals and technical reports while ensuring quality and consistency
  • Coordinate with senior reviewers and technical leaders


Business Development



  • Drive growth through client engagement and relationship building
  • Cross-sell services across Environmental, Geotechnical, and Construction Materials Testing disciplines


Industry Engagement



  • Represent S&ME in local and regional professional organizations
  • Strengthen brand visibility and expand professional networks

Qualifications



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering, or a related construction field
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years managing and supporting geotechnical engineering projects
  • Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE)

  • Strong understanding of consulting within the A/E/C industry
  • Proven ability to build client relationships and win new business
  • Ability to balance office responsibilities with regular field engagement
