$62,000.00 - $103,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

The Privacy Consultant is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, maintenance, and adherence to the organization's privacy program in collaboration with legal counsel and management, key departments, and committees to ensure organization has and maintains appropriate privacy and confidentiality consent, authorization forms, and information notices and materials reflecting current organization and legal practices and requirements. You will directly support AmFam Group's enterprise strategy by ensuring compliance with evolving state and federal privacy requirements while enabling responsible data use across the organization. You will provide operational privacy expertise and support that allows business partners to execute strategic initiatives in a compliant, timely manner without introducing unacceptable risk. You will report to the Director, Privacy Compliance

In this flex office/home role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month from either Madison, WI 53783 or Boston, MA 02110

Primary Accountabilities

  • You will research and interpret regulatory requirements, findings and legislative alerts for trends and potential business impact.
  • You will assist business units in assessing business policies and procedures for gaps that may expose the company to significant privacy compliance risks.
  • You will support business units to determine if business practices, or absence of practices, present significant regulatory, ethical, or legal compliance risks.
  • You will assist in conducting privacy impact assessments on applications, systems, processes and vendors. Assists in identifying compliance deficiencies and areas of risk and works with business units to develop and implement risk mitigation plans.
  • You will partner with other internal business partners and stakeholders to manage risk from internal and external sources.
  • You may review and analyze criticisms issued by consumers and regulators and work with affected business units to verify the validity and respond to criticisms.
  • You will assist in evaluating industry compliance trends and apply that knowledge to business practices.
  • You will work with business units to develop action plans on any issues arising from regulatory inquiries.
  • You will assist with the development, implementation and maintenance of consumer privacy notices, privacy policies, standards and procedures to ensure enterprise compliance with federal/state privacy requirements.
  • You will develop and facilitate privacy training and awareness communications.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  • Any Privacy Certification from the IAPP
  • Ability to interact with and influence senior leadership
  • Extensive understanding of and experience with privacy regulatory requirements.
  • Solid knowledge in compliance programs with a background in privacy preferred.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to support consultation.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of risk assessment and risk mitigation protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions support or service.
  • Travel Requirements up to 10%.
