The Opportunity

     Pathway, Inc., the Community Action Agency serving Lucas County, is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Project Director to lead the implementation of the FORGE Fatherhood Program in Toledo, Ohio. This federally funded initiative aims to strengthen families, support fathers, and improve outcomes for children through comprehensive services, case management, and community partnerships.

 

     The Project Director will provide strategic leadership, oversee daily operations, and ensure compliance with federal grant requirements while driving measurable outcomes. This role serves as the primary liaison to federal partners and local stakeholders and plays a key role in advancing Pathway's commitment to family stability and economic mobility.

 

     As part of the Community Action Agency network, which serves communities across more than 1,000 agencies across the country, this position offers the opportunity to contribute to and learn from a broader movement focused on reducing poverty and strengthening families nationwide. 

Program Leadership & Strategy

        Provide overall leadership and direction for the FORGE Fatherhood Program

        Ensure alignment with federal grant objectives, performance measures, and reporting requirements

        Lead program planning, implementation, and continuous quality improvement efforts

        Monitor outcomes and use data to strengthen program effectiveness

Grant Management & Compliance

        Serve as the primary point of contact for federal grant oversight and reporting

        Ensure timely and accurate submission of all required reports and deliverables

        Oversee program budget, financial tracking, and compliance with funding guidelines

        Maintain readiness for monitoring, evaluation, and audit activities

Staff Leadership & Development

        Supervise, coach, and support program staff

        Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

        Provide training and oversight related to case management and service delivery

Partnership & Community Engagement

        Build and maintain strong partnerships with community organizations, public agencies, and stakeholders

        Represent Pathway locally, regionally, and nationally

        Strengthen referral systems to support fathers and families across service networks

Program Implementation

        Oversee delivery of fatherhood programming, including evidence-based curriculum and case management services

        Support development of family engagement activities and father-child events

        Ensure participants are connected to employment, education, and financial stability resources

Sustainability & Growth

        Support long-term planning for program expansion and sustainability

        Identify opportunities to strengthen services and partnerships

Qualifications

        Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, public administration, family studies, or a related field (Master’s preferred)

        Minimum of three (3) years of experience in program coordination, project management, or grant-funded program administration (five [5] years preferred)

        Demonstrated experience in staff supervision, training, and leadership

        Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail

        Excellent written and verbal communication skills

        Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

        Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, board members, and community partners

        A deep commitment to Pathway’s mission and values

Preferred Experience

        Experience managing federally funded programs or large-scale initiatives

        Knowledge of fatherhood, family stability, or workforce development programs

        Experience with data systems, performance tracking, and outcomes reporting

Working Environment

This is an active, community-facing leadership role. The Project Director will engage regularly with partners, participants, and stakeholders across the community. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required to support program activities and events.
