WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Parts Warehouse Mentor serves as a key resource within the warehouse team, responsible for guiding, training, and supporting newer and developing Parts Warehouse personnel while maintaining a high level of individual productivity. This role acts as a bridge between leadership and frontline employees, helping ensure that all warehouse operations are executed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with company standards.
In addition to managing their own daily workload, the mentor provides hands-on instruction in core warehouse functions such as receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping parts. They play a critical role in reinforcing best practices, ensuring accuracy in inventory handling, and promoting consistency across all warehouse processes.
The Parts Warehouseman Mentor also assists in verifying work completed by team members, identifying opportunities for improvement, and providing real-time coaching to enhance performance and skill development. This position supports a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement while helping maintain a safe and organized work environment.
This role requires strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to effectively communicate and lead by example. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in developing others, optimizing workflow, and contributing to the overall success of warehouse operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Provide guidance and mentorship to warehouse staff on parts handling, inventory management, and warehouse best practices.
  • Train new employees on warehouse procedures, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency in parts receiving, storage, and distribution.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting regular cycle counts.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance warehouse productivity.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support parts availability and timely delivery.
  • Promote a safe and organized work environment adhering to all safety regulations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE


  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required and three or more years of relevant experience desired.
  • Able to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, vendors, and managers.
  • Demonstrate strict adherence to all applicable corporate safety standards.
  • Must be available to work at assigned location, including overtime, evenings or weekends if needed.
  • Must be dependable. Consistently arrives at work on time when scheduled.
  • Displays flexibility, handles changes to assigned tasks with ease.
  • Must have patience to perform routine tasks daily, accurately, and consistently.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, adaptability, and a strong customer service focus.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and self-initiative, and the personal drive to be successful.
  • Excellent communication skills.



KNOWLEDGE, TECHNICAL SKILL, & ABILITIES


  • Working knowledge of warehouse operations including receiving, stocking, inventory control, and shipping.
  • Familiarity with inventory systems, part identification, and warehouse management (WMS/ERP) systems.
  • Ability to train and mentor team members, providing clear guidance and support.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with a focus on accuracy.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
