DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerk Typist 2, you will be providing essential clerical support using Microsoft Office and other systems to type and proofread documents, including court-related materials such as subpoenas, schedules, and correspondence. Work involves screening and routing calls and messages, determining urgency, and relaying information regarding hearing changes to appropriate staff. You will also have the opportunity to maintain and organize case records, files, and logs, as well as handle interoffice mail distribution.

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM, Tuesday - Saturday
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time (hybrid) up to 2 days per week after 6 months of employment. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or
- Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or
- Any combination of equivalent experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Allegheny County. If no eligible candidates who live within Allegheny County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
