Description The Security Analyst is responsible for reviewing, interpreting, and acting on data generated by the organization's security technologies. This role focuses on analyzing alerts, logs, reports, and threat intelligence to determine appropriate response actions, coordinating remediation efforts, and ensuring identified issues are fully resolved. Key Responsibilities Security Monitoring, Analysis & Response * Analyze alerts, logs, dashboards, and reports generated by SIEM, EDR, email security, network security, cloud security, and other monitoring platforms. * Validate and triage security events to distinguish false positives from actionable threats. * Track issues through resolution to ensure corrective actions are completed and verified. * Escalate high-risk or complex incidents in accordance with defined procedures. Vulnerability & Risk Management * Assist in risk assessments and security reviews for infrastructure, applications, and third-party vendors. Security Operations & Engineering Support * Assist in the deployment, tuning, and optimization of security technologies. * Support identity and access management reviews and privileged access monitoring. Continuous Improvement * Stay current on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends. * Recommend enhancements to detection capabilities and security processes. * Participate in tabletop exercises and incident simulations. * Contribute to security awareness initiatives as needed. Skills security plus, cybersecurity, windows Additional Skills & Qualifications Preferred oBachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). Required o2-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related IT role. oWorking knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPNs). oUnderstanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and common security controls. oStrong analytical and problem-solving skills. oAbility to communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. oIndustry certifications such as Security+ or better Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, IN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
