LSC-Houston North Greenspoint is a state-of-the-art, full-service location designed to serve the greater Greenspoint area. Its proximity to local businesses and public transportation has created a location ideal for working and non-traditional students. The facility offers a selection of day, evening and weekend credit courses, including university-transfer courses, certificates, computer/office skills, and developmental studies.

Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Coordinator III, Business Student Services oversees, and coordinates assigned areas' business functions. Serves as the business lead for the Student Services division, coordinates daily budget monitoring and financial activities for all departments across Student Services, helps lead budget planning and continuously monitors costs and purchases. Reports to the Vice President of Student Success and works collaboratively across the Student Success division with various departments to partner on financial, budget operations and purchases. Makes and communicates process decisions based on best practices. Evaluates procedures, practices and personnel, and creates and implements processes to ensure department stays in compliance with LSC policies and procedures and local, state and federal regulations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Coordinates daily business operations for Student Services by managing operating, student life, grants, and project budgets; Provides program and operating services support to ensure efficient business functions
  2. Monitors cost and budgets, provides input, and assists with budget recommendations and data entry for the annual division budget development process
  3. Requests quotes, inputs purchase requisitions in the ERP system, and executes purchases. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures. Provides financial and procurement and travel support and guidance to internal constituents
  4. Prepares budget transfers, student travel packets, One Card/Declining Balance applications, contracts, direct pays, and any other financial forms/documents for the division. Gives directions, resolves problems, prepares schedules, and sets deadlines to ensure efficiency of workflow for business related matters for the Student Services division
  5. Creates and implements business processes to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and to ensure efficiency, documentation, and information sharing
  6. Manages resolution process for specific and operating services related to division financials, purchasing and other resources operations
  7. Makes presentations at division workshops/trainings/information sessions as needed
  8. Performs research, compiles information, analyzes data, and provides detailed reports as needed. Develops, monitors and maintains a variety of spreadsheets, databases, reports and presents findings to internal/external constituents (may include LSC Executives, department managers)
  9. Adheres to financial project requests (e.g. mid-year projections, monthly budget reports) that are assigned by the Administrative Services division/Campus Finance Team
  10. Schedules regular monthly budget meetings with internal Student Success departments to ensure all purchases are tracked on spreadsheets and budget is allocated accordingly
  11. May supervise full-time and/or part-time staff as assigned
  12. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE & CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
Salary

Hiring salary range is $48,152-$55,375

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
