The Maricopa County Environmental Services Department is seeking a motivated, innovative, and solutions-oriented Management Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will support and advance Department-wide strategies to enhance data governance, accessibility, and utilization, informing organizational decision-making and improving customer service outcomes.

The Management Analyst will collaborate with staff at all levels-including line staff, Supervisors, Program Managers, Division Managers, the Department Director, and external consultants-to evaluate business needs, support process improvements, and ensure that current and future data systems effectively align with departmental goals and customer expectations.

We Require

  • Two years of professional experience in administrative or public program administration

  • Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, or a closely related field

  • Post-secondary education may substitute for one year of the required experience

We Also Value

  • Experience with County Health Codes, analytical principles and practices, and regulations on public health and sanitation

  • Computer/software skills with experience in database management, Excel pivot tables, business computer applications, and building data collection/screening tools

  • Coursework, training, and certifications in Environmental Health or Business Analytics-related fields

Job Contributions

  • Assists department management by researching, analyzing, and evaluating assigned programs, policies, organizational structures, systems and procedures, equipment, staffing, and alternative customer service methods. Performs data analysis and develops reports to support evidence-based decision-making and operational insights. Recommends process improvements and supports the design, development, coordination, and implementation of solutions.

  • Exercise control of all department records in accordance with retention schedules and be the point of contact for the department's management of public record requests. Receive, review, and research all public records requests and produce records and information requests in accordance with county policy and in conjunction with Information Governance.

  • Assists Director and Division Managers by preparing required documentation, managing each step, and ensuring the department follows the Enhanced Regulatory Outreach Process (EROP) requirements.

  • Identifies and coordinates activities that will assist the Directors and Division Managers in meeting goals in programmatic, strategic, and individual staff performance plans

  • Assists department management in formulating, editing, managing, and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Department Policies (DPPNs)

  • Researches, reviews, analyzes, and monitors applicable legislation changes and county policy changes related to department programs and activities.

Working Conditions

  • Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions

  • Hybrid and alternative schedules are available after training based on business needs

  • Ability to lift up to 20-25 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly

  • Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software, and Hardware:Laptop and/or desktop computer, mobile printer, county cell phone, inspection equipment, database management software, Adobe Pro, MS suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
