The primary responsibility of the Assistant Director of Freshman Admission is to coordinate and manage recruitment strategies, initiatives, and Admission staff involved in driving the enrollment of high school students to Saint Xavier University. This position collaborates in the development, execution, and assessment of a comprehensive freshman recruitment and communication plan. This person oversees and manages freshman admission counselors and coordinates enrollment services with the Center for Success, Campus Life, etc. The position also manages a freshman recruitment applicant pool/territory, leads activities related to establishing quality relationships with area high schools, provides high quality student service to prospective students, builds quality relationships with Saint Xavier faculty and staff, and contributes to a collegial, goal-oriented, and positive work environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Lead recruitment efforts of the Freshman Admission team, including:
- Assist in the development and execution of key recruiting strategies
- Assist in planning recruitment communications (email, phone campaigns, text, etc.) to drive freshman applications and enrollment.
- Analyze internal and external recruitment data and trends in freshman market
- Make recommendations and implement strategies/initiatives based on enrollment trends
- Manage and mentor freshman admission staff including:
- Establish standards for cultivation of inquiry and applicant pools
- Monitor key admission counselor performance benchmarks (IQ/App conversion, application completion rates, contacts and follow-up with prospective students, etc.)
- Set standards for service to prospective students
- Coordinate vacation/time entry approvals, etc.
- Manage a selected freshman applicant pool which includes:
- Conduct on-campus admission group presentations and individual appointments
- Correspond with prospective students via direct mail, email and phone
- Review applicants for admission
- Travel as necessary to high school visits associated with building partnerships
- Record, compile, and analyze recruitment data.
- Enhance the content and deliverables of on-campus prospective freshman student appointments and events.
- Manage and update freshman webpages
- Foster key relationships and strategic partnerships with high schools and community-based organizations
- Contribute to short and long-term unit and University strategic goals and objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
-
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum two years' experience in college admission.
- Superior writing skills essential.
- Ability to manage and organize multiple projects simultaneously is absolutely necessary.
- Experience guiding staff in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment along with monitoring and reporting staff productivity is required.
- Maturity to assume responsibility for stated enrollment goals and drive staff activity to meet these goals.
- Strong computer skills using relational databases and MS Office with expertise in Excel necessary. Experience using Ellucian Colleague and Technolutions Slate database systems is strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work effectively on committees and project teams needed.
