Job Summary:


Effective management of the organization's infrastructure, space and assets to enhance its operational efficiency. Will oversee the construction and renovation of buildings, manage relationships with contractors, control space allocation and maintain facility project budgets. Will also be responsible for overseeing the company's capital assets and ensure compliance for all environmental regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities:


  • Manages the programming, planning, design and construction for new construction, renovation, environmental, remodeling and maintenance projects enterprise wide including site plans, utilities, buildings, building systems and infrastructure.
  • Serves as liaison and is responsible for direction and implementation of assignments to design professional architects/engineer, general contractors and construction management firms.
  • Conducts reviews of facilities and oversees/manages facilities minor and major capital projects to assure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, policies and procedures as well as company standards.
  • Responsible for project budget management, record keeping, contract management and enforcement, project schedule, construction compliance with applicable codes, required inspections and the legal requirements for the construction of facilities.
  • Monitors expenditures of the capital budget for each assigned project and reviews/processes payment of invoices, adherence to construction contracts, attends pre-bid, pre-construction, project design and construction meetings.
  • Prepares initial project estimates, directs and evaluates the performance of design consultants, contractors and construction managers through periodic inspections and directs daily supervision. Ensures completion of projects, from first request through close out in accordance with established standards, schedules and budget parameters.
  • Responsible for maintaining environmental records, submitting and obtaining all regulatory permits as assigned.
  • Responsible for planning and project cost/timing to budget.

Requirements
Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree Facility Management, Construction Management or Project Management or equivalent experience rquired.
  • Professional registration as a Professional Engineer or PMI Project Management Professional preferred.
  • 5 years' experience in Facility Project Management or equivalent experience required.
  • 3 years' experience in commercial construction projects or equivalent experience required.
  • General knowledge and experience of safety and contract/liability issues required.
  • Previous industry experience and knowledge preferred.
  • Environmental permitting experience and knowledge preferred.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end project management, construction contracts management, budget management and preparation of change orders, drawing modifications required.
  • Knowledge of project control and phasing of construction activities to avoid impact on enterprise operational activities required.
  • Knowledge of construction financial matters including schedule of values and payment approval required.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and construction quality controls systems including inspections and environmental regulations required.

  • Knowledge of environmental and building codes/regulations. Knowledge including but not limited to planning, design and construction of new and renovated facilities in IL, MI, MO and WI required.


  • Strong decision-making ability required.


  • Ability to work autonomously required.


  • Strong organizational, leadership and project management skills required.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work and communicate effectively with all customers in a fast pace high volume work area required.


  • Ability to effectively present information to all levels within the organization required.


  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, applicable codes and other governmental regulations as well as address/respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or the business community required.


  • Strong attention to detail with the strong ability to problem solve required.


  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines required.


  • Strong MS Office knowledge required.




Physical Requirements:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, bend and stoop to perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
