Job Overview

Own the financial heartbeat of two high-visibility manufacturing sites-Monroe, LA and Sheboygan, WI-while serving as a trusted finance business partner to operations leaders and senior executives and turn insight into impact. As the Operations Controller for Ingersoll Rand's Thomas and Welch product lines, this leadership role drives manufacturing cost efficiency, revenue growth, margin expansion, and working capital optimization while leading a small team. Responsible for multi-site financial performance, this role translates month-end results into actionable plant-level insights, driving the KPIs that matter most. This is not a back-office role-analysis, recommendations, and decisive actions directly influence plant operations and guide where investments are made to win. This is an opportunity to shape outcomes at the largest plant while supporting two additional product lines--- offering broad scope and a meaningful platform to make an immediate impact. Through cross-functional collaboration, this role drives real-time problem solving and advances key initiatives that directly influence performance.. Responsibilities:

  • Multi-Site Operations Finance Leadership :
    Leads financial performance across multiple manufacturing sites, improving conversion costs and unit level costing for highly configured or engineered to order products.

  • Manufacturing Productivity Influence :
    Influences plant and operations leadership to deliver productivity improvements, operational efficiency, and stronger financial accountability. Facilitate timely response to various stakeholders, both internal (FP&A, controllership, AP, AR) and external (vendors, customers)

  • Supply Chain & Procurement Partnership: Drives material cost savings and strengthens replenishment/procurement processes through robust financial analysis and end to end cost visibility.

  • Month End Close:
    Reviews and holds oversight responsibility for monthly closing over Monroe and Sheboygan sites, including ensuring that monthly financials are in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with SOX controls.

  • Operations Reporting: Provides insightful analytical reporting that delivers context and implications of the financial results, trends, risks and opportunities. This includes understanding manufacturing results (productivity, scrap, PPV, spending trends), NWC (inventory, AP, AR), and capital investment analysis

  • Business Partnership: Develops and evaluates both tactical and strategic objectives, including customer/product sales, mix, and profitability analytics, new business quoting, and potential M&A integration

  • Control Environment :
    Ensures strong financial controls and is pro-active in resolving current or future gaps. Establish and maintain a culture of compliance (revenue cut-off, reserves, safeguarding assets).

  • Budgeting and Forecasting :
    Develops timely and accurate forecasts for the P&L and Balance Sheet. Assess risk and opportunities. Support standard cost process.

  • ERP & Systems :
    Leverages system capabilities to enhance costing accuracy, operational reporting, and manufacturing decision support.
    Drive improvements to ERP configurations and automation through changes to internal processes and creation of dashboards.



Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related business concentration
  • 8+ years progressive accounting / finance experience, in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of cost accounting experience: standard costing and variance analysis
  • 5+ years of ERP accounting finance system experience (Oracle, SAP, JDE, IQMS, Syteline, etc)
  • 4+ years advanced Excel capabilities, to include modeling, complex data analysis, and automation of reporting
  • 2+ years of leadership experience

  • Collaboration & Influence: Partners effectively across functions, building alignment and influencing outcomes
  • Prioritization & Execution: Effectively manages multiple projects and competing priorities with strong organization and focus on timely delivery
  • Systems & Tools: Advanced proficiency in Excel, HFM, and data warehouse environments (Qlik) and other business applications



Preferences:

  • Oracle 11i
  • MBA, CMA, CFA, CPA certification



Travel & Work Arrangements:

  • Remote US based, with monthly travel to Monroe, LA & Sheboygan, WI
  • Anticipated travel 2-3 days / month approximately 20%



Pay Range
The pay range for this role is $110,000-$120,000, excluding incentive opportunities. The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location. Hired applicant will be eligible to receive (discretionary/nondiscretionary) annual bonuses and incentive compensation.
