3rd Shift Hours: Sun.-Thur. 10pm - 6am

JOB SUMMARY:

The Level I Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing daily and preventative maintenance, repairs, and installation of production and facility equipment. This position applies related knowledge of manufacturing equipment and mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and resolve equipment / machine breakdowns.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Maintain a safe working environment by complying with policies, procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities
  • Document necessary inspections and maintenance
  • Check and review work orders and complete tasks on a priority basis
  • Assist Machine Operators as needed to aid in the safe and efficient operation within their production area
  • Perform training requirements as needed
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing tasks as needed
  • Demonstrate high levels of good housekeeping practices
  • Participate in the management and maintenance of the parts inventory system, including research to determine parts required

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Education/Specialized Knowledge: Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.

Experience/Skills/Abilities and/or Training: 2+ years related experience and/or training to include:


  • Safety - observe safety procedures, report potential unsafe conditions; use equipment and materials properly
  • Problem solving - identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gather and analyze information; develop/evaluate alternative solutions; apply critical thinking skills; work well in group situations

  • Reasoning - apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form; define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Licenses/Certificates: Fork / Aerial Lift Certified.

Technology/Equipment: Knowledge of the standard practices, materials, tools and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of manufacturing machinery / equipment.
