We Require
Two years of experience providing customer service in a construction environment or evaluating site plans, building construction plans, and related documents High school diploma or GED Post-secondary education in Urban Planning or a related field may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
Other Requirements Successful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire. We Also Value
Two years of experience in land development or related fields Technical and/or customer support experience, preferably in a private development or municipal permitting process Ability to read and interpret a wide variety of documents, including complex construction and engineering civil or site plans, base maps, aerial photographs, applicable policies, and procedures Understanding of land surveying principles and legal descriptions (Plats/Deeds) Permit Technician Certification Experience operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software, including Microsoft Office products, Bluebeam Revu, etc., for processing permit activity and communications
Job Contributions
Create address numbers using analytical and mathematical procedures in accordance with the grid systems and the Addressing Policy Assist developers and the public at the counter or over the phone by explaining the review of civil or site plans, subdivision plats, recorded surveys, easements, legal descriptions, and deeds to assign unique residential and commercial addresses Prepare and send notifications for address assignments, updates, and changes to internal and external users Maintain historic resource map files and permit databases Serve as a primary liaison with emergency service providers and other County departments to resolve issues. Conduct research to identify and fix addressing problems and errors Respond to addressing inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly and professionally Prepare communications with internal and external customers regarding street names/addresses and work Receive, ensure accuracy, and process new/change road name applications. Communicate with property owners and/or appropriate agencies about any address change or newly named roads, and related issues Perform other duties as assigned
Working Conditions
This position requires the employee to be in the office/field or customer-facing for all hours worked Exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, or negligible amounts constantly, or requires walking or standing to a significant degree Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
