Facilities Support Specialist
Job Purpose
The Facilities Support Specialist provides dual-layered technical support, managing both hardware/software issues and the facility's critical physical infrastructure. This position acts as the primary liaison between business operations (manufacturing/office) and the broader IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate bridges the gap between a Desktop Support Technician and a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic, ensuring that everything from the data center's power supply to an employee's workstation is functional, secure, and compliant with safety codes.
Nature of Duties & Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Low Voltage Engineering: Design, install, and terminate CAT 6 and Fiber Optic cabling. Perform data connectivity analysis and fusion splicing where required.
Physical Security & AV: Manage and troubleshoot KeyScan access control systems (badge readers, electronic strikes). Install and maintain integrated Audio-Visual systems (projectors, digital signage).
Electrical & Safety Compliance: Utilize general electrical knowledge to manage dedicated IT power circuits, UPS systems, and equipment grounding. Ensure all installations meet OSHA criteria and lead Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Network Troubleshooting: Resolve Ethernet physical layer issues, basic TCP/IP protocol setups, and Network Interface Card (NIC) failures.
Customer Service: Maintain a high level of credibility by providing rapid response and following through on client issues with empathy and ownership.
System Liaison: Proactively identify and report systemic problems to Management; act as the "boots on the ground" for large-scale deployment projects.
On-Call Support: Provide on-call customer and facility support as scheduled by the manager to ensure 24/7 operational stability.
Physical Requirements & Competencies
Physical Stamina: Ability to work on ladders, in confined plenum spaces, and lift equipment up to 50 lbs.
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with internal customers and cross-functional teams.

Credentials & Certifications
Electrical: General Electrical Knowledge (Required).
Safety: OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification (Preferred).
Networking: CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent low-voltage certifications (e.g., BICSI) are highly preferred.
Security: Familiarity with KeyScan or similar Access Control Platforms.
Education & Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
IT Experience: 1-2 years of experience in IT-related roles, with a focus on hardware deployment and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
Industrial Experience: Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand manufacturing environment.
Software Knowledge: * Proficiency in modern OS (Windows 10/11) and Office 365.
