Job Description




As a Armed Security Officer - Housing Patrol Driver in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed, driving patrol officer at a residential location, where you will conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. In this role, you will support residents and property staff with professionalism, reliability, and integrity while contributing to a caring, team-oriented environment that values agility and innovation.

What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to residents, guests, and/or property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to property management and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the residential location, including common areas, parking areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter spaces, helping to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization when required, and address trespassing, loitering, and/or suspicious behavior in accordance with post orders and local requirements.
  • Maintain a visible presence while handling routine interactions, assisting with resident concerns, and supporting security-related responses to alarms, calls for service, and/or after-hours issues.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is required.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
