GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: The Inventory Technician performs advanced inventory duties critical to accuracy, accountability, and operational readiness. This role provides technical expertise in cataloging, location control, cycle counting, and reconciliation. The Inventory Technician supports depot-level sustainment activities by ensuring that physical inventory and system records are aligned and compliant with organizational, audit, and program requirements. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform cycle counts, audits, and physical-to-system reconciliations; document and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate bin locations, labeling, and warehouse mapping; update locations in inventory system
- Catalog materials with correct NSN/NIIN, part numbers, alternates, unit of issue, condition codes, and shelf-life
- Operate barcode/RFID scanners and support advanced system transactions and data cleanup
- Support receiving and issuing processes by validating technical data and material specifications
- Assist in establishing storage layouts, location strategies, and warehouse organization during stand?up or re-slotting
- Train and guide Inventory Clerks and Material Handlers on correct inventory procedures
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and safety guidelines
- Ensure compliance with export control requirements (ITAR/EAR) for inventory items
- Support Government Furnished Property (GFP) tracking and accountability when required
- Participate in program meetings, readiness reviews, and logistics working groups as needed
- Must be willing to travel

Required Experience:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Required Qualifications
- 2i4 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, warehouse, inventory, or material control roles
- Strong understanding of inventory terminology and practices (cycle counts, reconciliation, location control)
- Ability to read technical documentation, part lists, and basic BOM information
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to lift/move up to 40i50 lbs; comfortable working in a warehouse environment
Desired Qualifications
- Certified operation of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material?handling equipment
- Strong knowledge of PHS&T (Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation) requirements for sensitive equipment
- Ability to package, preserve, and prepare items for shipment in accordance with DoD and industry standards
- Skilled in safe loading/unloading, warehouse safety practices, and OSHA compliance
- Experience managing organized, secure storage areas and controlled inventory zones
- Proficient in receiving inspections, damage checks, and verifying materials against documentation
