Job Overview:
Step into this Plant Controller role with ILC Dover, an Ingersoll Rand business, and join the team behind the only proven and flown spacesuits for NASA, a legacy of innovation that has protected astronauts for generations.

The Plant Controller will lead all financial operations
for the Frederica ADS business, overseeing monthly close activities, account reconciliations, and journal entry approvals while ensuring accuracy across balance sheets, trial balances, and financial reporting. You will manage ERP financial data, strengthen standard and project costing, and partner closely with Operations
and Quality to drive profitability and operational
performance. With responsibility for the capital expense process, budgeting, annual physical inventory, and fixed asset verification, this role maintains full financial visibility across plant operations.
You will also serve as the primary contact for financial audits and support strategic and ad hoc initiatives that impact the broader business.

The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting background, paired with a proactive, process-improvement mindset-thriving in a fast-paced environment, leveraging advanced Excel capabilities, and continuously elevating how work gets done. Acting as a critical bridge between finance and operations,
you'll simplify complex financial insights, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and drive data-driven decisions that enhance profitability and operational
excellence across the plant.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all finance operations,
    including managing monthly close activities, reviewing and approving account reconciliations and journal entries, and ensuring accurate percentage-of-completion accounting.

  • Work directly within the company ERP system to gather, prepare, review, and continuously improve financial and accounting data to support accurate reporting and deliverables.
  • Partner with cost accounting and manufacturing to enhance the usefulness of standard and project costing data, maintain labor and absorption rates, and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and profitability.
  • Assist with government contracting requirements, including annual incurred cost submissions, forward pricing rates, and disclosure statements, while ensuring full compliance with Cost Accounting Standards.
  • Own and manage the capital expense process, including tracking and forecasting, project justification and approvals, and post-project benefit tracking.
  • Collaborate with business leaders and support the VP of Finance in developing, loading, and managing the annual budget while driving insights that improve profitability.
  • Co-lead the annual physical inventory process, including oversight and formal sign-off on results, and lead the annual fixed asset verification process, including asset tracking, documentation, and disposal oversight.
  • Serve as the primary contact for financial audits at the plant level, support corporate audit activities, and participate in various strategic and ad hoc projects as needed.



Requirements

  • Bachelor
    's degree in finance, accounting, business or related field of study

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience to include budget preparation, analyzing revenue and margins, trial balance sheets, journal entries, closing monthly books, and management reporting
  • 5+ years' experience working in a defense contracting / manufacturing environment setting inventory standards and reviewing manufacturing variances
  • 4+ years of experience working with advanced formulars in Excel
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience working with ERP systems such as Syteline, SAP, Oracle
  • Must be a US Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident authorized to work in the U.S. for working on government contracts directly and accessing shared data resources

Preferences:

  • MBA, CMA, CFA and/or CPA certification
  • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations as they pertain to accounting standards
  • Experience with Defense Contract Management Agency audits
  • Infor Syteline experience in cost accounting and manufacturing modules



Travel and Work Arrangements

  • Hybrid from Frederica, DE
  • Travel is less than 10%
