The Mission

Join Peraton's innovative team and lead the modernization of the Theater Mission Planning Center (TMPC) while ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of today's operational system. TMPC is the mission planning and execution component of the Tomahawk Weapon System (TWS).

What You'll Do

As an Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Senior Advisor, you will guide the integration of cutting-edge artificial intelligence and machine learning to transform a mission-critical system into a next-generation, data-driven capability. You will provide technical thought leadership, mentor agile teams, and drive the adoption of modern AI/ML engineering practices within a secure DevSecOps environment. In this role, you will:

    AI/ML Strategy & Modernization: Architect and lead the strategy for introducing new AI/ML technology into the customer's infrastructure. Perform feasibility analysis and cost-benefit analyses for potential future projects, ensuring solutions align with enterprise goals and make maximum use of existing or COTS components.
  • Agile & Product Leadership: Serve as a primary customer liaison to understand and shape requirements. Assist TMPC Product Owners in managing the product backlog, prioritizing features, and defining user stories. Lead daily stand-ups and participate in Sprint Reviews and Backlog Refinement ceremonies.
  • System Architecture & Technical Governance: Work with architects and developers to define the essential core design features and framework for the system. Apply knowledge of enterprise needs to design improved processes, generate valid requirements, and ensure solutions are consistent with the customer's enterprise technical architecture. Assess system performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures.
  • DevOps & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Support the creation of a software environment that covers the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) using current methodologies, including Continuous Deployment, Agile, and DevOps. Work collaboratively across cross-functional teams and multiple vendors to execute timely and effective releases.


Qualifications

What You'll Need
  • Education: 12 years with BS/BA; 10 years with MS or 7 years with a PhD, 16 years of applicable experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Core Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of AI and ML technologies. Deep understanding of IT standards, the system development life cycle, and project management frameworks.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills and the ability to foster collaborative relationships with customers, teaming partners, and cross-functional teams.
  • DevOps Tooling: Experience in some or all of the following tools: Git, Azure Dev Ops, Artifactory, Docker, PostgreSQL.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively articulate complex technical information to a variety of stakeholders.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
Nice to Have
  • Hands-on experience with software development (C# .NET Core preferred) or full-stack development.
  • Experience architecting and implementing data storage solutions (for both structured and unstructured data) appropriate for complex enterprise needs.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience in modern web development, including JavaScript UI libraries such as Angular along with CSS and JS.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS a Certified AWS Solutions Architect certification is preferred.
  • SAFe or equivalent Agile experience.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
