This role is a TEMPORARY full-time onsite role at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama.

The General Maintenance Worker works closely with the assigned lead craftsman or crew leader in performance of their duties. You will perform minor maintenance to include repairs and installation. Coordinates work and inspections with facility managers. Must be able to troubleshoot and identify problems. Able to respond to emergency repair calls to restore operations within their area of expertise upon notification during regular hours or after duty on-call hours.

This role is a TEMPORARY full-time onsite role at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama.

Essential Job Duties:

• Responsible to perform all assigned duties as safely and efficiently as possible to maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintains and repairs real property to include but not limited to replacement and installation of electrical, mechanical, structural, fuel and plumbing systems, appliances and associated hardware to meet workload requirements.
• Makes adjustments to shop equipment to insure proper operation.
• Accomplishes periodic inspections, recurring maintenance requirements and associated documentation.
• Maintains systems to conform to written guidance and applicable changes.
• Maintains required operating forms and records and assures proper use of all assigned shop equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional and mission requirements.

Mandatory:

• 2+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, structural, fuel or plumbing system maintenance.
• Able to read and interpret Work Orders, parts requests, and manuals, to accomplish assigned duties. Ability to also read drawings/schematics/blueprints preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of maintenance craft tools.
• Ability to utilize computer tablet to view work orders or look up parts.
• HVAC EPA card preferred.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, heavier items with assistance.
• Able to sit, stand, walk, drive, kneel, squat, bend, crawl, stoop, reach, climb ladders, work in tight spaces.
• High School Diploma, or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
