A Brief Overview The US LBM Service Optimization Analyst is responsible for analyzing support and application administration activities across a broad portfolio of business applications. This person will redesign workflows to optimize efficiency and end user experience. This role evaluates how work enters the organization, how it is handled, and where manual intervention is required. This person operates independently and exercises sound judgment in determining where human involvement is necessary and where it is not. The focus of this position is on eliminating unnecessary manual effort by changing how work enters, flows through, and exits the organization.
What you will do
- Analyze operational workloads across support, administration, release, and project activities to understand how work is performed.
- Review intake paths, approval steps, handoffs, and sequencing of work to identify inefficiencies or unnecessary manual effort.
- Identify outcomes currently achieved through repetitive or manual processes.
- Determine where human involvement is required and where it can be reduced or removed.
- Redesign workflows to achieve required outcomes through automation, defaults, self-service, or alternative execution models.
- Eliminate redundant approval steps, intake paths, manual checks, and parallel processes.
- Pilot redesigned approaches and evaluate impact before broader implementation.
- Partner with technical teams to define automation or self-service solutions.
- Present clear recommendations that require leadership decisions regarding continuation or redesign of existing work patterns.
- Establish and maintain a prioritized backlog of workflow redesign opportunities based on operational impact.
- Monitor redesigned workflows to ensure legacy manual processes do not re-emerge.

Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in Computer Science or relevant experience
Experience Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in operational analysis, IT operations, application support, platform operations, or similar environments.
- Demonstrated experience redesigning workflows to reduce manual effort or eliminate unnecessary process steps.
- Experience evaluating operational workloads and implementing system-level or process-level changes.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of operational workflows within IT or application environments.
- Practical knowledge of automation, self-service mechanisms, and system-driven process design.
- Ability to identify where manual effort is compensating for system design gaps.
- Ability to drive implementation of redesigned processes across multiple teams.
- Strong structured problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate independently and influence change without direct authority.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted support tools or large language models used for knowledge deflection or automation.
