WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Analyst in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location. This position offers a flexible work arrangement (remote/hybrid) with time spent in the Milwaukee office.

This position is part of a job family (Associate Analyst, Analyst, Senior Analyst) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Summary

The Analyst is responsible for supporting monthly close process, financial planning and analysis, and both internal and external reporting requirements. The role ensures the accuracy of financial results, provides actionable insights through variance analysis, and supports budgeting, forecast, and regulatory compliance efforts. This position will provide accounting & finance support to our growing renewable generation portfolio.

Job Responsibilities

Month-End Close & Accounting

* Prepare and post journal entries
* Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities within established timelines
* Prepare account reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy
* Analyze general ledger activity and investigate variances or unusual transactions
* Support external and internal requests

Financial Planning & Analysis

* Develop and maintain annual budgets and monthly forecasts
* Partner with business units to gather assumptions and refine financial projections
* Perform detailed variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast/prior periods)
* Identify key drivers of financial performance and provide actionable insights
* Support long-term financial planning used for budgets, rate cases, etc.

Financial and Regulatory Reporting

* Prepare monthly management reports for business unit
* Ensure consistency and accuracy of financial data across reporting tools
* Prepare quarterly and annual regulatory reports
* Maintain documentation to support audit and regulatory review process

Process Improvement & Systems

* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
* Assist with ERP system enhancements, reporting tools, and automation initiatives
* Maintain strong internal controls and support SOX compliance

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a closely related field is required (May 2026 graduates are eligible to apply)
  • Entry level position where some work experience preferred but not required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with project management methodology
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in accounting, financial analysis, or related roles
  • Experience with SAP
  • Graduate Degree in a business discipline or CPA
  • Public accounting or regulated industry experience (e.g., utilities) is a plus

Pay Range Minimum: $59,510.36

Pay Range Maximum: $118,053.26

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
