GFTis seeking aSr Civil 3D/Site Designerto support a variety of projects in theMid-Atlantic region. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at Mechanicsburg, PA office.

What you'll be challenged to do:

GFT is seeking a Sr Civil 3D/Site Designer for our site/civil practice within the buildings & places business group. The position provides the opportunity to participate in project teams for the planning, design, and construction administration of public and private projects. Clients and projects may be in various locations, typically in the northeast region. Candidate must have the flexibility to travel within the region periodically to help serve GFT's client base. This role supports a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Mechanicsburg, PA office

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Expertise in Autodesk Civil 3D, including Point creation, 3D surface design modeling, site grading, alignments, pipe network profiles, corridor modeling, earthwork calculations, production plans, sheet sets, and construction documents.
  • Prepare conceptual and detailed design drawings for projects using Autodesk tools such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD while following company and client standards, processes, and protocols.
  • Have an interest or experience in Autodesk Revit design software and Esri ArcGIS Mapping Software.
  • Working with CAD standards, XREFs, and data management systems. Navigate and utilize online project document control system (e.g., ProjectWise, BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud).
  • Ability to work well in a team and interpret redline corrections from engineers.
  • Prepare detailed design drawings for grading and site development, utility piping, including developing alignments, profiles, cross sections and details.
  • Working with other subject areas on multi-discipline projects including architectural, structural, and electrical.
  • Working closely with staff engineers and other designers.
  • Maintain project files/documentation including logs, quality control verifications, etc.
  • Meet established budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment; for project/task scope schedule and budget.
  • Participates in QA/QC processes and resolving redlines to meet project deadlines.
  • Maintains Quality control and assurance CADD documents per company or client requirements.
Education | Experience:

What you will bring to our firm:

  • Associate's degree in civil or site design/drafting program
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Project experience with site-civil / water & wastewater / stormwater / erosion & sediment control design / utility routings.
  • Knowledge of construction drawings.
  • Proficient in Design Software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D)
  • Functional experience with MS Office applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Project Managers / Engineers on the project relating to needs and design.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $75,000 - $95,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
