Inventory Control Manager - Waverly, NE

Must
work closely with Purchasing Managers located within the zone structure to
maintain target levels of inventory turns, prevent stockouts, and manage
movement of slow moving inventory within the zone to prevent accumulation of
dead stock. Coordinates activities of personnel engaged in purchasing,
distributing and managing inventory of welding equipment and supplies within
specific Company zones(s) by performing the following duties.

Essential Function
Drives the implementation of Company purchasing and
inventory management practices throughout Zone.
Monitors, manages Zone personnel's execution of Company
preferred vendor and private label initiatives.
Work with Purchasing Managers and location managers to
improve inventory-related performance of "problem" locations to acceptable
levels.
Train Company personnel and monitor their progress on
utilization of The Company's inventory management system.
Assists with disposal of surplus materials, first
within Zone, then across Zones.
Assists with periodic inventories.
Support specific vendor promotions & stocking
programs at Zone locations.
Manage/Enter local competitive allowances within Zone.
Will require travel & overnight stays, primarily
within the Zone.
Serve as Back-up to Purchasing Managers for ordering in
the event of surprise absences, uncovered vacations, etc.
Perform other duties as directed to support performance
of inventory in Packaged Gas business.
Oversees the Purchasing Managers (PM)
Responsible for Zone performance of inventory turns,
stocking levels, dead stock write-offs, and other metrics used to measure
business performance. Such metrics shall include measures of customer
service levels, order fulfillment, and stock-outs, aligned with Zone sales
performance metrics.
