JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX Forward Deployed is an 12-month rotational program that embeds early-career engineers inside the teams responsible for FOX's biggest, most-watched moments.

You will complete two six-month deployments across Streaming, Sports, News, AI systems, and shared platforms. You will contribute directly to production systems used by millions.

This is not a shadow program.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Software Engineer in the FOX Forward Deployed program, you will rotate across two engineering teams embedded within core business units across Sports, News, FOX One, AI, Revenue Platforms, and shared platform organizations. You will work inside the teams that own the systems, partnering directly with engineers, product leaders, AI specialists, and business stakeholders to solve real operational problems and ship alongside them.

You will design, build, and deploy production systems that power consumer facing products and enterprise platforms across the FOX ecosystem. From live sports and breaking news to AI systems and shared infrastructure, you will operate in high visibility environments where performance, reliability, scale, deadlines, and real time delivery are non-negotiable. Systems must perform under pressure, and your work will have a measurable impact.

You will operate in an AI native engineering environment leveraging agentic development platforms such as Claude Code, Codex, Replit, Loveable, OpenHands, Letta, Devin, Kiro, and Windsurf, alongside enterprise AI and data platforms including AWS Bedrock, SageMaker, Vertex AI, Databricks,, and Palantir to accelerate production delivery at scale.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, build, and ship production services, APIs, and platform components

  • Contribute to live systems powering consumer-facing apps and enterprise platforms

  • Partner with product and engineering to deliver end-to-end solutions

  • Operate under real latency, scale, reliability, and business constraints

  • Improve systems through iteration, feedback, and measurable outcomes

WHAT YOU COULD BUILD

  • Live Sports Intelligence at broadcast scale: Build low latency video analysis systems that detect key plays, generate AI highlights, and transform live game footage into immediate viewer experiences.

  • Newsroom Operations and Audience Systems: Build tools that support live newsroom workflows, improve content discovery, and enhance audience engagement across FOX platforms.

  • FOX One Live Experience Systems: Build the AI and streaming services that power premium live sports, entertainment, and news, delivering rich interactive consumer experiences across devices.

  • Shared Identity & Platform Capabilities: Contribute to core services (identity, authentication, entitlements, shared APIs) that unify experiences across FOX properties and keep users moving seamlessly between apps and platforms.

  • AI Powered Cyber Operations: Design multi agent security systems and internal platforms that allow cybersecurity teams to rapidly build and deploy defensive tools in production.

  • Revenue Automation: Build multi agent systems that use RAG and complex document understanding to automate proposals, streamline campaign workflows, and connect revenue operations across FOX business units.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Strong foundations in software engineering fundamentals

  • Evidence of building and shipping projects (coursework, internships, independent work, open-source contributions)

  • Demonstrated use of AI-native development tools (e.g., Cursor, Replit, ChatGPT, Codex, Claude Code, Opencode, Droid) to accelerate building, debugging, or prototyping workflows.

  • Comfort learning unfamiliar systems and navigating ambiguity

  • Bias toward shipping and iteration

  • Clear communication skills

HOW WE EVALUATE BUILDERS

We do not evaluate resumes alone. You will be asked to:

  • Share one artifact of work you've built (Github profile link or any personal websites)

  • Share what programming language you are most comfortable in. What is your favorite tech stack? Why?

  • Describe a real technical tradeoff you faced while developing software

  • Demonstrate deployment or production experience (Hosting, CI/CD, Testing, etc)

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Experience contributing to production systems serving real users
  • Exposure to cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, or data platforms

  • Familiarity with streaming, media, AI/ML systems, or platform security domains

  • AWS, GCP, Azure experience

  • Experience contributing to an open source project

  • Experience building with agentic frameworks (Langchain, AI SDK, Agents SDK, Mastra, Claude SDK) and shaping LLM outputs to fit business needs

  • Experience building custom GPTs, Gems, Replit Apps, Loveable Apps

  • Fullstack development experience (Frontend, Backend, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity)

  • Experience navigating large, unfamiliar codebases
