POSITION OVERVIEW:
Provide in-depth analysis of trends and risks for the Risk Management department, identifying and leading on-going innovative programmatic initiatives with responsibility for implementation and bringing concepts to fruition. Act as liaison between Risk Management and external and internal customers and ensure integrity of Risk Management data and information reports.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead Company risk and claims analytics to identify trends, emerging exposures, and priority areas for operational improvement
2. Develop and implement data-driven initiatives that enhance risk management, compliance, and program performance
3. Coordinate and manage state and federal insurance filings to maintain interstate and intrastate operating authority
4. Support OSHA and state injury/accident reporting requirements in partnership with Safety to ensure regulatory compliance
5. Conduct targeted exposure analyses and research studies to inform risk mitigation strategies and departmental objectives
6. Prepare and validate periodic and ad hoc financial data for external actuaries to support accruals and financial planning
7. Design, implement, and document financial controls and processes to ensure compliance with audit and legal requirements, including monthly control testing
8. Serve as technical liaison with IT to support and enhance RMIS and electronic claims systems, ensuring data integrity and reporting accuracy
9. Collect, validate, and manage claims and exposure data from TPAs, insurers, and RMIS platforms, including correction of coding and data quality issues
10. Communicate analytical findings and risk insights to management through reports and presentations, escalating material trends and recommending corrective action
11. Coordinate with Finance team, as needed, on insurance and risk-related matters, including certificates of insurance, surety bonds, financial guarantees, and coverage inquiries
12. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
13. Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience plus five (5) years' experience in risk management or insurance; experience in underwriting or risk management financial analysis preferred
* Knowledge of Risk Management Information Systems and legal applications of risk and insurance concepts and financial controls
* Knowledge of all aspects of workers' compensation and liability insurance and other relevant regulatory filing requirements, including technical knowledge of insurance policies and risk financing techniques.
* Experience in workers' compensation and third-party liability claim management preferred
* Professional designation in claims and/or insurance preferred
* Advanced experience in risk management research and statistical analysis
* Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and effectively manage changing priorities
* Excellent analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally and empathetically, including in a group setting
* Experience and ability to use Microsoft Office Software, including but not limited to; Word, Excel and Outlook

Additional Details: While this is a remote position, the successful candidate must reside within 50 miles of a FedEx Freight location in Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR.
