Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a Data Analyst to join our Engineering and Operations Division. This role focuses on supporting data analysis, reporting, and visualization efforts to help drive informed decision-making across the organization.

This position is embedded within the Enterprise Applications team and works closely with Data Engineers and stakeholders to deliver accurate, actionable insights. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their data career who is eager to develop technical skills and grow in a collaborative environment.

This position is non-remote, full-time onsite in North Logan, UT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Extracts, cleans, and prepares data for analysis from a variety of sources
  • Performs basic data analysis and generates standard reports
  • Assists in building and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Ensures reports and visualizations meet end user requirements
  • Collaborates with data engineers and stakeholders to support data-driven solutions
  • Validates data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Supports documentation of data sources, analysis processes, and reporting logic
  • Assists in maintaining and improving existing reports and dashboards
  • Follows established best practices for data quality, governance, and reporting
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in data analytics, computer science, engineering, or other related field
  • No more than 5 years of relevant experience
  • Foundational knowledge of data analysis tools and languages (SQL required, Python a plus)
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI preferred)
  • Basic understanding of data processing, cleansing, and validation techniques
  • Introductory knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis concepts
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to communicate findings clearly and effectively
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Must be U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or other U.S. person

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Power BI (Report Server and/or Service)
  • Familiarity with SQL-based data models or data warehouses
  • Exposure to Python or other scripting languages for data analysis
  • Basic understanding of data governance or data quality concepts
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data
  • Internship or academic project experience in data analysis or reporting

Salary Range
  • $50,000 - $75,000
