Join our Digitalization team in Planetary Health Biosolutions Application Research, where digital platforms are built side by side with scientists. This is an applied, handson role focused on shaping how data is captured, structured, and used in real research environments-transforming scientific workflows into scalable digital foundations that drive better decisions and faster innovation.

Working in a creative and international scientific environment, you'll help strengthen our inhouse data science platform and fully leverage our global tech stack spanning cloud, HPC, and inhouse platforms. The Role & Your Impact

In this role, you'll contribute directly to the digital transformation of our scientific application research processes. You'll work closely with global research teams to understand workflows, capture high-quality data, and build robust and scalable solutions that advance scientific insight and decision-making. Beyond delivering solutions, you'll play an important role in strengthening digital and data capabilities in the research areas you support-helping teams work more structured, scalable, and datadriven over time.

Your key responsibilities include:
  • Owning and evolving existing digital solutions, balancing longterm quality with new development
  • Improving and supporting data processes and digital solutions across our application research workflows
  • Building and maintaining web and data infrastructure components supporting scientific teams
  • Delivering scalable and reliable solutions using a mix of internal and external software components
  • Collaborating with digitalization teams across Novonesis to support strategic transformation goals
  • Developing tools enabling structured (meta) data capture and FAIR data practices
What You'll Need to Be Successful

(Must-haves based on required skills, experience, and essential competencies)

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, or similar.
  • Solid, documented experience with Python programming
  • Strong understanding of programming principles, including software design and unit testing
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership in a researchdriven, evolving problem space
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for teamwork in a hybrid and cross-functional setting
  • Comfort working in an agile team environment
Additional Skills & Interests We Value

  • Experience improving or contributing to data science stacks (Python, R, databases, app development)
  • Proficiency with Git or other version control tools
  • Experience with statistical analysis or ML tools (R, Python, SAS JMP, etc.)
  • Background in lab automation or experience working in a scientific or development team environment

Ways of Working / Working Conditions

  • Occasional travel between sites may be expected
Compensation
  • Expected salary range: $100k to $140k
