Job Profile Summary

Informs the strategic direction and decision-making on various Network, Company and/or Enterprise-level people and staffing initiatives involved in transformation and optimization. Provides expertise and actionable guidance to management, up to and including Senior Leaders. Conducts or leads complex analysis of HR and operational market data and considers impacts of changes in the marketplace, demographics, or legislation. Fosters strong working relationships across functions and operating companies to ensure successful collaboration and project implementation.

Essential Functions

  • Leads strategic research projects, running advanced (e.g., modeling, multivariate) analytics and providing predictive decision metrics to business leaders.
  • Partners with leaders to identify research questions, determine key metrics, and interpret results.
  • Manages all phases of projects, including contracting and consulting with clients, developing research/project plans, providing insights and recommendations to facilitate decision-making, and developing and presenting results summaries.
  • Develops and manages predictive models (e.g. job movement, retirements, talent pools, policy decisions) and integrates workforce model output, when appropriate, into production reporting and developing metrics to assess their effectiveness
  • Supports appropriate projects by providing Human Capital insight, business context, and analytical support. Guides statistical inquiries and provides business interpretation of findings
  • Leads and provides subject matter expertise and comprehensive analysis to complex, broad, dynamic, and often highly confidential people and staffing projects and initiatives.
  • Develops sound business solutions and recommendations for ultimate leadership approval, including holistic views of associated risks and benefits.
  • Works autonomously, often navigating ambiguous and/or previously unchartered territory and topics. Identifies cross-functional and cross-company stakeholders, soliciting data, information, and input to ensure comprehensive assessment and solutions development.
  •  Develops presentation materials covering complicated and sensitive information and delivers findings and recommendations in a professional and clear manner to various audiences that may include all levels of Company leaders.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in quantitative field, such as I/O psychology, business, finance, economics, engineering, computer science or related discipline required.

Minimum Experience

Eight (8) years of progressive experience required in leading, planning and/or executing broad and complex strategic projects.

Experience leading and implementing projects that have impact at a Network or Company level required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
  • Verbal and written communication and presentation skills necessary to communicate complex and/or confidential information with all levels of management.
  • Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.
  • Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs
  • Ability to anticipate and identify problems and use sound judgment and fact-based analysis to develop effective and efficient solutions.
  • Ability to mentor, coach and act as a knowledge resource to other employees.
  • Working knowledge of advanced spreadsheet applications, database concepts and applications, and predictive modeling/forecasting techniques and SAS.

Job Conditions

Minimal domestic and/or international travel required as needed.

Domicile Information: This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. Employees who live within commutable distance of a FedEx corporate hub may be required to work a hybrid schedule.
