JOB SUMMARY:

The Regional Business Director (RBD) will be responsible for the business performance and achievement of company objectives within the assigned region. The RBD will be accountable for designated region's P&L. Candidates must live NY, MA, NH, ME, CT, or NJ. #LI-REMOTE

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for exceeding goals and objectives for the respective region.
  • Serve as member of the sales leadership team, ensuring alignment with goals and objectives of the commercial leadership team and the broader organization.
  • Hire, lead, inspire, coach and develop the Rare Disease Specialists in respective region.
  • Provide strategic direction to Rare Disease Specialists in order to exceed goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers within assigned region.
  • Direct the development and execution of regional business plan and manage departmental budget activities.
  • Support the brand plan and corporate strategies.
  • Collaborate with commercial and project management team to ensure successful promotion of BioCryst products.
  • Engage Rare Disease Specialists in company culture of passion and commitment to patients.
  • Communicate cross-functionally to gather knowledge and best practices for Rare Disease Specialists.
  • Responsible for regional P&L.
  • Demonstrate clear and thorough understanding of market, disease state, product and competition.
  • Act as champion of corporate values and inspire direct reports and colleagues to do the same.
  • Exercise impeccable judgement and oversight to ensure integrity and compliance with federal, state and local regulations, as well as corporate policies in all activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10 years of proven biotech/pharmaceutical sales experience. Proven Biotech/Pharmaceutical leadership experience, specifically in rare disease, specialty pharmaceuticals or other complex sales cycle strongly preferred.
  • Track record of high performance i.e. Top 10% performance history, National awards, President's Club, etc.
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Track record of KOL-relationship development.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Significant travel required, proximity to a major airport ideal.
  • Launch experience and small start-up commercial experience a plus.
