Overview: Veeco plans to increase Spector Ion Beam Deposition (IBD) capacity approximately tenfold by early 2027 to meet more than $250 million in equipment orders from manufacturers building the optical interconnects that power AI data centers worldwide. Every one of those systems needs to be installed, qualified, and kept running at the customer's expected performance level - and that is your job. We are looking for a Quality Engineer to lead continuous improvement initiatives that drive operational excellence and exceed customer expectations. This role is ideal for Quality professionals who are passionate about collaboration, continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and who are willing to develop a strong technical understanding of the product. As a Quality Engineer, reporting to the Quality Director, you will be expected to investigate reported quality issues, determine root causes, and develop corrective actions with accountable ownership. You will develop and utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify product and process improvement opportunities. You will lead cross-functional teams, implementing systemic improvements to improve business processes and enhance customer satisfaction. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of cutting-edge manufacturing systems used in semiconductor fabrication. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative problem solver with strong analytical skills and excellent communication ability. Responsibilities:
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or a related technical field and 5 years of related experience or a Master's degree and 3 years of experience is required. Capital equipment manufacturing experience, especially in the semiconductor industry, is highly preferred. Expertise in quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, 5Why Analysis, Fishbone/Ishikawa Diagrams, SPC, etc. is also required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
