JOB SUMMARY The Manager of Clinical Affiliations provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all clinical education partnerships within the School of Nursing. In collaboration with the dean and academic leadership, this role assesses programmatic needs and secures appropriate clinical placements to support undergraduate, pre-licensure, and graduate programs. The manager cultivates and maintains strong relationships with healthcare agencies and community partners, ensuring effective coordination, clear communication, and high-quality clinical learning experiences for students. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborates with dean, associate deans, and other administrative faculty to identify all programmatic clinical needs Arranges and organizes community and institutional clinical sites Provides oversight to the coordinator of clinical affiliations to facilitate clinical contracts Communicates to the coordinator of clinical affiliations the need for agency contract dispositions including continuations and terminations Coordinates with clinical partners to ensure a smooth implementation of clinical activities Orients all faculty engaged in clinical activities with clinical partner(s) to current requirements used by affiliating agencies Ensures faculty have met requirements for clinical practice including vaccinations, CPR, etc. Facilitates annual evaluation of the School of Nursing by the clinical agencies and reports data to program committees Represents the School of Nursing at community events as designated by the dean Represents the clinical needs of the School of Nursing on committees as assigned by the dean Plans collaborative academic-service partnership opportunities in conjunction with the dean Coordinates clinical rotation requests and assignments for baccalaureate and pre-licensure programs. Communicates clinical partner orientation requirements to students and faculty in a timely manner. Communicates with course coordinators and involved faculty specific requirements for affiliating agencies (e.g. special immunizations, parking requirements/restrictions, clinical information systems and computerized documentation requirements, agency badges, etc.) in a timely manner Collaborates with School of Nursing Student Services Associates, Clinical Contract Coordinator, Clinical faculty and Program Coordinators to facilitate student compliance with clinical requirements (current immunizations, CPR, TB, Joint Commission requirements, and criminal background checks) Collaborates with Clinical Course Coordinators to ensure ongoing general contact with clinical partner(s) each semester Performs other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of clinical education standards and healthcare regulatory requirements Knowledge of academic program needs related to student clinical experiences Knowledge of affiliation agreements and contract management processes Knowledge of health, safety, and credentialing requirements for clinical participation Skill in building and sustaining partnerships with healthcare and community organizations Skill in coordinating complex schedules and managing multiple clinical placements Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with diverse stakeholders Skill in organizing documentation, timelines, and compliance processes Ability to analyze evaluation data and implement improvements to clinical partnerships Ability to lead, guide, and represent the academic program in professional and community settings
