DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Our enthusiastic and dedicated nursing staff provides 24-hour care, seven days a week. From helping our residents prepare for their day to assisting them to participate in exciting activities, you will play a huge role in their day. Through this day-to-day contact with our residents, you will have the ability to positively impact their quality of life by providing the best possible care.

This position is a starting step to a Nurse Aide position. You will be responsible and accountable for attending and completing off site training to be certified as a state tested Nurse Aide. Selected candidates must be able to attend formal classroom training sessions at our partner location. Classroom training entails activities such as reading assignments, listening to lectures, watching films, observing demonstrations, and role playing. Additionally, you will receive on-the-job training assignments to develop knowledge, skills, abilities, and focus necessary to provide non-professional rehabilitative nursing care.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
  • Work hours are 1st shift (6:45 AM to 3:15 PM); 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM) and 3rd shift (11:15 PM to 7:45 AM), with a 30-minute lunch.
    • You will work a rotating schedule and every other weekend.
    • Work hours prior to attending school will be 1st shift (6:45 AM to 3:15 PM), Monday - Friday.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Willingness and ability to work in Spring City, Chester County, PA
  • Willingness to work a full-time permanent position for the 1st shift (6:45 AM to 3:15 PM) or 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM) or 3rd shift (11:15 PM to 7:45 AM), with rotating days and weekends
  • Willingness to successfully complete a 120 hour training course with 42 hours of classroom instruction and 24 hours of lab practice, held at our partner location - the remaining 54 hours will take place at a clinical site near the school you attend
  • Work experience caring for geriatric or physically ill individuals
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent

Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
