Job Summary

The Maintenance Tech 2 role requires a solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. This role will perform advanced maintenance tasks, diagnose issues, and ensure the optimal functioning of equipment.


Responsibilities

Required Soft Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-functional team environment.
  • Proficiency in using computers and tablets to input data into maintenance management systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Functions and Responsibilities

Machine Maintenance

  • Perform routine service and preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on various machines.
  • Replace components such as cylinders, pumps, bearings, and other machine parts.
  • Set up and conduct minor repairs on hand tools and machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues related to machine operations.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repair assistance, parts procurement, and service-related needs.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and minor repairs on air compressors and associated systems.
  • Install machine-related systems including vacuum lines, ductwork, and other auxiliary components.
  • Operate various types of mobile equipment, including proficiency in using a 60-ft articulating lift.

Building and Facility Maintenance Responsibilities

  • Supervising contractors and 3rd party vendors.
  • Scheduling contractors and 3rd party vendors.
  • Diagnose and repair plumbing issues involving toilets, urinals, sinks, and water coolers.
  • Install and replace water cooler filters.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including breakers, panel boxes, lighting fixtures, and other related components.
  • Replace ballasts and light fixtures as needed.
  • Maintain roof drainage systems including gutters and downspouts.
  • Perform minor repairs on building doors, roll-up doors, and security gates.
  • Repair and replace ceiling tiles

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Journeyman license, preferred.

Abilities:

  • The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to [50 pounds] on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including but not limited to, loading, and unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.
  • Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
  • Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
  • See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
