Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Leverage the Enterprise Data Analytics Platform in performing large-scale data analyses, as well as the development of predictive models including machine learning to drive business insights
  • Work extensively with key stakeholders across business analytics teams to understand business needs, vet opportunities, and deliver analytics-based recommendations to drive action
  • Deliver presentations to communicate analytical findings to technical and non-technical peers, stakeholders, and executives
  • Collaborate with key ED&A team members in deploying and delivering solutions into the Enterprise Data and Analytics Platform
  • Collaborate with other data scientists to define and develop advanced analytics capabilities, policies, and best practices; evangelize analytics and communicate these best practices across the enterprise
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop deliverables and present insights
  • Communicate regularly, openly, and honestly with manager, team leads, team members and business partners using appropriate and effective methods. Raise concerns appropriately to mitigate issues
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related focus and a minimum of one year experience which includes cumulative work experience or equivalent internship/co-op experience, or six months of Con Edison co-op or internship experience or
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related focus and a minimum of one year experience which includes cumulative work experience or equivalent internship/co-op experience, or six months of Con Edison co-op or internship experience
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related focus with data science and/or AI a plus and a minimum of one year experience which includes cumulative work experience or equivalent internship/co-op experience, or six months of Con Edison co-op or internship experience
Relevant Work Experience
  • Exposure to design and coding across one or more platforms and languages as appropriate, required
  • Exposure to methods relating to application design, software development, and automated testing, required
  • Practical understanding of object-oriented design and coding with variety of languages, required
  • Exposure to Azure and Google Cloud Platform Technologies, preferred
  • Understanding of Waterfall, Agile or other rapid application development methods, preferred
  • Leadership, talent development and team-minded qualities, preferred
  • Demonstrate the value in taking an iterative and agile approach, preferred
  • Collaborative, curious, empathetic, open-minded, innovative, preferred
  • Show clear ownership and confidence in voicing ideas and concerns, preferred

Physical Demands

Additional Physical Demands
  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
