Lead Access Control Installation Technician (Contract-to-Hire) Position Overview We are seeking a Lead Access Control Installation Technician or a strong Level 2 Technician who can work independently and is ready to grow into a leadership role. This position focuses on leading commercial security system installations while maintaining high standards for quality, customer service, and project execution. The right candidate will have hands-on experience installing, servicing, and programming enterprise-level access control, video surveillance, and intrusion systems, with the ability to supervise projects and mentor team members. Training and advancement opportunities are available for technicians looking to strengthen their leadership skills. Top Skills - Required * Minimum 3+ years of experience installing, servicing, and programming: * Commercial access control systems * IP-based video surveillance systems * Intrusion systems * Minimum 3+ years of experience serving as a project lead or acting lead technician * Strong communication and organizational skills * Ability to support customer systems through remote diagnostics with professionalism * Practical knowledge of IP networking concepts * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Secondary Skills - Nice to Have * Advanced troubleshooting experience * Alarm systems knowledge * Service and maintenance background Key Responsibilities * Lead installation projects involving the termination, configuration, testing, and commissioning of enterprise security systems * Supervise installation teams and serve as the primary technical lead on assigned projects * Install and support systems including: * Access control * CCTV / IP cameras * Intrusion detection * Video analytics * IP networking and visitor management systems * Organize and manage workloads efficiently to meet project schedules * Interface directly with customers and provide on-site project supervision * Maintain quality control standards and deliver strong customer service * Track project progress, milestones, and completion status * Ensure installations meet design specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements Preferred Certifications & System Experience Experience or certification in the following systems is a plus: Access Control * Pro-Watch * Genetec * Software House * Lenel / S2 * OpenPath Video Surveillance * Axis * Exacq * Milestone * MaxPro * Genetec * Victor * Avigilon * Hanwha Locking Hardware * ASSA ABLOY * Von Duprin * Adams Rite Intrusion Systems * Vista * DSC * Bosch * DMP Training and certification investment available for the right candidate.
