DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will work in various buildings and surrounding areas at Fort Indiantown Gap, performing a wide range of electrical tasks. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures. You will interpret blueprints, develop material lists for assigned projects, and serve as a lead worker overseeing helpers during various stages of work. You will also ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained, making minor repairs when needed. All duties are carried out in compliance with DMVA general safety standards and the specific safety requirements of this position.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 1st shift (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM), Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your work schedule may change based on operational needs.
  • Overtime: As needed
  • As an essential employee in this position, you may be required to work during emergencies or office closings.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Electrician Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, components, and equipment; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

  • This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Have experience in installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, components, and equipment
  • Completed an approved apprenticeship in the electrical trade
