The Cyber Security Lead Engineer is a senior technical leader responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network security solutions across the organization. This role oversees the configuration and management of firewalls, endpoint protection platforms, and VPN technologies to safeguard critical assets and ensure secure connectivity. In addition to deep expertise in network security, the Lead Engineer leverages software development tools to build, maintain, and update custom security controls and automation scripts, enhancing the overall security environment. The position requires advanced analytical skills, a strong understanding of threat landscapes, and the ability to mentor junior team members. The Lead Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, drives security initiatives, and ensures compliance with industry standards and organizational policies. This position demonstrates leadership, technical excellence, and a commitment to continuous improvement in cybersecurity practices.

Position Compensation Range:

$113,000.00 - $194,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

This position is able to accept candidates who can transfer a valid, current H-1B visa. However, we do not provide sponsorship for F-1/OPT or STEM OPT (including initial, extension, or future sponsorship), now or at any time in the future. Candidates must have ongoing authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring F-1/OPT/STEM-related sponsorship.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Advanced understanding of network security principles, architectures, and protocols

  • Extensive experience with Palo Alto firewall technologies including design, deployment, and management

  • Experience with VPN technologies and secure remote access solutions

  • Strong grasp of threat detection, vulnerability assessment, and incident response methodologies

  • Proficiency in software development tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Ansible) for automating security tasks, developing custom controls, and integrating security solutions

  • Working knowledge of secure coding practices and application security fundamentals.\

  • Ability to design, implement, and optimize security solutions for complex environments

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for resolving advanced security and network issues

  • Experience developing automation scripts and tools to streamline security operations

  • Effective leadership and mentoring skills to guide junior engineers and foster team growth

  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging threats, technologies, and best practices

Certifications (Preferred):

  • CISSP, CISM or equivalent advanced certifications

  • Vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Palo Alto Networks)

Other Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience leading security projects and initiatives

  • Strong documentation skills for maintaining records, procedures, and incident reports
