Facilities Technician needed for a contract opportunity with SOC's client in Herndon, VA.



This is an onsite role (Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM) supporting facilities operations across multiple suites within a corporate environment.



Candidates must be U.S. Citizens to be considered for this role.



The Facilities Technician will support day-to-day building maintenance, repairs, and operational needs within a multi-suite facility. This role is critical to maintaining a safe, functional, and comfortable work environment through hands-on maintenance, preventive inspections, and responsive service support.



Responsibilities:

  • Perform general facilities maintenance including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and minor repairs.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and monthly safety inspections, reporting issues to the Facilities Manager.
  • Respond to service requests and emergency maintenance needs in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Support conference room setups/teardowns, office moves, and furniture installations/reconfigurations.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for maintenance activities and work orders.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental (EHS) policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and operational workspace across the facility.
  • Collaborate with team members and demonstrate strong customer service and teamwork.




Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with 3-6+ years of experience, including at least 3 years in facilities maintenance.
  • Strong hands-on experience across multiple trades:

    • Mechanical
    • Plumbing
    • Electrical
    • HVAC
    • Carpentry / general repairs


  • Basic PC and Microsoft Office skills (email, timecards, work order systems).
  • Ability to follow EHS policies and procedures.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a background check.




Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LO/TO) procedures.
  • Strong handyman/mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative and reliability.
