Bartlett Cocke General Contractors is currently seeking a Shop Technician to join our team in San Antonio, TX! The Shop Technician will provide assistance to assemble, test and maintain company equipment.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze root causes of equipment failures and propose corrective actions.
  • Perform regular inspections to identify and correct equipment malfunctions, repairs and replacements.
  • Read and understand technical manuals for equipment operations and maintenance.
  • Adhere to company policies and safety regulations.
  • Develop preventive maintenance procedures to avoid equipment failures.
  • Maintain the facility clean, safe and organized.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment on regular basis.
  • Provide assistance and job trainings to workers when needed.
  • Maintain documentation of equipment maintenance and repair procedures for future reference procedures.
  • Maintain inventory control of equipment tools and parts.
  • Propose improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
  • Develop cost reduction initiatives by effective utilization of materials and resources


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent plus two (2) years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience may substituted for education up to a maximum of four (4) years
  • Knowledge of methods, systems and components, and materials used in repair and servicing of vehicles and other equipment including, motorized heavy equipment and trailers
  • Knowledge of various types of vehicle diagnostic testing and analysis equipment and tools used in vehicle repair and maintenance.
  • Proficient in oral and written communication.
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals.
  • Ability to follow safety practices and procedures needed to operate equipment safely, understand and follow work-related instructions and directions.
  • Must supply your own tools. Company does not provide tools.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other Bartlett Cocke employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Physical Requirements:

  • Essential duties are performed in a service center environment with exposure to a variety of motorized equipment, spare parts, tools, oil and lubrication, corrosive liquids, and other potentially hazardous materials.
  • Incumbent may be exposed to loud noise, warm and cold conditions, standing for long periods, frequent stooping and bending, and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Individuals will need to have good eye-and-hand coordination and read and write in dimly lit conditions


Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

  • Class "C" Driver's license preferred.
