Job Purpose: The IT Chief of Staff Consultant is a strategic advisory role within the Chief of Staff office, designed to operate as a trusted internal consultant to IT leadership. This role blends strategic analysis, business intelligence, and operational expertise to translate complex data and insights into clear recommendations that drive informed decisionmaking and measurable outcomes.Serving as a critical thought partner and execution catalyst, the consultant bridges longterm strategy and daytoday operations-helping IT leaders assess performance, prioritize initiatives, and continuously improve how the organization runs IT as a business. The role partners closely with senior leaders to shape narratives, challenge assumptions, and enable disciplined execution across the IT portfolio.Key responsibilities include facilitating and advising on core management processes such as monthly performance scorecards, executive strategy responses, multiyear (3-5 year) strategic roadmaps, and operational excellence initiatives. Through a consultative approach, this role ensures alignment between strategy, execution, and business value, while elevating the effectiveness and maturity of the IT function.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Analysis & Business Intelligence
- Serve as a strategic advisor to IT leadership by designing, curating, and interpreting enterprise-level IT scorecards and performance dashboards that illuminate operational effectiveness, financial health, and customer experience. Proactively surface insights and implications to sustain momentum and inform leadership actions. - Synthesize and integrate data across multiple IT functions and sources to provide a cohesive, enterprise view of IT performance, organizational health, and progress against strategic priorities and multiyear roadmaps. - Identify emerging trends, systemic patterns, and material anomalies within IT operational and financial data, translating observations into meaningful narratives and partnering with leaders to assess impact, risks, and response options. - Deliver clear, actionable insights and recommendations grounded in data and strategic context to support executive decision-making, prioritization, and continuous improvement across the IT portfolio. - Operational Support for Chief of Staff Function
- Provide strategic and operational support to the IT Chief of Staff, enabling disciplined execution of IT priorities. Produce executivelevel materials, coordinate crossfunctional analysis, and maintain governance cadence, operational rhythms, and tracking systems to support "Running IT as a Business" and delivery of strategic initiatives. - Data Analysis & Insights
- Conducts rigorous analysis of IT operational, financial, and performance data to identify efficiency opportunities, performance gaps, risks, and improvement trends. Synthesizes complex data sets into clear, actionable insights that inform strategic priorities, operational decisions, and continuous improvement initiatives. - Develops executiveready visualizations, presentations, dashboards, and documentation that effectively communicate findings to both technical and business audiences. Monitors emerging industry trends, benchmarks, and competitive practices to inform IT service delivery, performance standards, and operational maturity. - Support of Running IT as a Business
- Serves as a strategic business partner enabling IT to operate with the discipline, transparency, and value focus of a mature enterprise function. Integrates IT governance into core business management to support organizational health, risk mitigation, and value creation while ensuring alignment with enterprise business objectives. - Articulates how IT operates as a business, including operational cost drivers, revenue implications, cost structures, efficiency metrics, and budget impacts. Translates financial and operational data into clear executivelevel narratives and insights to inform CIO decisionmaking and enterprise investment discussions. - Designs and maintains metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) that link IT service delivery, operational performance, and financial outcomes to measurable business value. Enables clear communication and collaboration across regional and global IT and business functions to support alignment, accountability, and execution.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- >5 to 8 Years of relevant work experience
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and platforms
- Power BI Training
- Experience working with dashboards, scorecards, or performance management systems
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize data into actionable insights and recommendations
- Financial or business management background
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with executive-level stakeholders
- Master's or Postgraduate degree in MBA, Business Management, or a related field required.
- Possesses strong data entry skills.
- Able to execute instructions and to request clarification when needed.
- Able to perform complex mathematical calculations.
- Able to demonstrate complex problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making.
- Able to recognize and attend to important details with accuracy and efficiency.
- Able to communicate clearly and convey necessary information.
- Able to converse and write effectively in English and other local / regional language.
