Our client is hiring for a Buyer to join its growing team.This role blends planning, analysis, and relationship?building, and is ideal for someone who likes seeing the direct impact of their work on production and customer outcomes. What You'll Be Responsible For Own inventory planning for assigned products, ensuring material availability aligns with production needs Review MRP system outputs and turn planned orders into purchase orders to support forecasted demand Place, manage, and maintain purchase orders across assigned commodities and suppliers Actively monitor material shortages and take the lead on expediting components to avoid production delays Partner with suppliers to manage delivery schedules, resolve changes, and ensure on?time material flow Request and evaluate supplier quotes, preparing pricing summaries and cost comparisons Track purchase price variances and support cost analysis efforts across key commodities Support consignment inventory programs at supplier locations, when applicable Coordinate resolution and disposition of non?conforming materials in collaboration with quality and suppliers Share insights on supplier performance, including delivery reliability and quality, and participate in supplier visits as needed What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience in purchasing, materials, or supply chain roles Experience working with inventory planning, MRP, supplier coordination, and purchasing processes Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and follow?through Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (pivot tables strongly preferred) Hands?on experience with ERP systems; Oracle EBS and/or Oracle Cloud preferred Background supporting manufacturing or high?technology environments, including mechanical components Familiarity with Lean manufacturing concepts and Kanban systems APICS CPIM and/or CPP certification is a plus Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
