The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Section II: Summary of Job Function The Pharmacy Technician assists in the provision of pharmaceutical services under supervision of the Registered Pharmacist by performing the technical, clerical and manipulative tasks involved in dispensing, preparing, and distributing all medications and pharmaceutical products for all patient age groups (includes geriatrics, adult, adolescent, pediatric and neonatal), Work and/or performance shall conform to written established policies and procedures, Section III: Job Qualifications
Arrives to work on time Understands and adheres to the company policy and requirements,Ex,Snow day and sick time, Understands and participates on different committees or plans, EG Emergency Operation Demonstrates knowledge, skill requirements and expected level of participation in the safety and infection control management program, Willing to be cross trained to work or assist in other areas, Willingness and flexible to work alternating work schedules on short notice, Will support management and perform other duties/responsibilities asked by Tech Supervisor, Maintains and demonstrates knowledge in the following areas of pharmacy practice: calculations, generic-made name relationships; Stability s of compounded preparations, chemical formulas, abbreviations, common conversions and symbols; maintains and demonstrates awareness of limitations of technicians, Attends all mandatory/departmental in-services as recommended by regulatory agencies, Able to troubleshoot departmental equipment i, e, computers, label, delivery and zebra printers, fluidose and unit dose equipment, Checks in wholesaler order with accuracy and efficiency, resolving discrepancies, Assist the dept with inventory management, inventory returns, outdated medications, Shows inventory awareness, ensures that order quantities are optimal based on usage and shelf levels, Pick &Pack/ Repack Document Refrigerator Temperatures and QA logs in Simplify as required by BOP, Stages compounds and pack deliveries for day of and next day, Keeps up with the daily orders and manages time efficiently Process all delivery tickets for Infusion i,e, CHEMO/NEW STARTS/REFILLS with detailed attention, Maintain the daily Chemo schedule book and communicate effectively with the CHEMO Rph Faxing list of CHEMO patients weekly to the Dr, s offices for the scheduled infusions, Completes initial contact/Set up initial paperwork for NEW START patients, Initiate care plans for all NEW STARTS Assists respective RPH in always staying a day ahead Pulling supply sheets as needed and filing at the end of the day Performs double check on the supplies for all patients to avoid a second delivery, controlling cost, Communicate all discrepancies and information requested to respective Rph, Cleans and maintains the equipment (Unitdose and Fluidose), and Non-sterile hazardous room, Actively works to preserve and improve its quality Properly packages deliveries per specific hospital facility, Does quality work, Clean, neat and straight, Keeps work areas clean and organized Follows proper safety and infection control procedures and maintains a safe work environment, Dresses per protocol when working in clean rooms Follows proper hazardous drug procedures when compounding or handling, Code Trays Able to maintain consistent supply of Code trays to be sent to hospitals, Able to handle all returns efficiently, Assist the dept withimely manner, Always lending a helping hand across depts, going above and beyond taking ownership of work with full commitment , offering solutions and ensuring team tasks are completed in their working capacity, Benefits and Perks: At RWJBarnabas Health, our market-competitive Total Rewards package provides comprehensive benefits and resources to support our employees' physical, emotional, social, and financial health.
