The position willresidewithin PG&E's Strategy and Innovation organization on ourDecarbonization Strategyteam.PG&E'sDecarbonization Strategyteambridges long-term energy transition strategy and execution across PG&E's lines of business and coordinates withinternal andexternal stakeholdersidentifyand analyzeinnovative and cost-effectiveapproaches to adapt PG&E's business to a decarbonized future.With PG&E's core values of serving our planet and delivering for our hometowns at heart, the team provides consulting to supportstrategic decision making on long term company investments andpolicy prioritiesandleads high-profile utility initiativesrelated to decarbonization.

Position Summary

Supportsprograms and initiatives related to Energy Systems Strategies and climate policy. Works with internal departments, industry peers, and other partnersto influencestatedecarbonization policiesandalignthemwithcompanypriorities, funding constraints,and future business needs. Influences company,regulatory,and industry priorities based on inputs from customer research, business impacts and PG&E strategies and priorities.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on businessneed. The preferred work location is Oakland, CA.

PG&Eis providingthe full salary/pay range for this position. The actual amount paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location.Therange toreasonablyexpectwill be between the minimum to the midpoint of the range. The final decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to thefactorsabove.This job is also eligible toparticipatein PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Bay Area Minimum: $122,000.00

Bay Area Midpoint: $158,000.00

Bay Area Maximum: $194,000.00

Core Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitorsandmanagesa broad portfolio of regulatory proceedings and issues to ensure alignmentwithpolicy areasthat influencecost-effective decarbonization.This includes(1)attending related meetings;(2)reading, summarizing, and critically evaluating applications,filings, and proposed decisions;(3)writing testimony;and(4)providing proactive feedback toPG&E teamsto ensure thecompany'sdecarbonization strategy is consistently representedat the CPUC, CEC, and CARB.
  • Integrates industry knowledge into everyday business practices and decision making.
  • Researches, analyzes,benchmarksand presentson relevant decarbonizationmarket, regulatory, andpolicy topics as they relate to the regulated utility.

  • Reviewsand commentson proposed legislationrelevant to decarbonizationin partnership with the government affairs team

  • Leverages contactsinside and outside theCompany to pressure-test and refine solutions.Workscollaboratively and proactively acrossinternal and externalstakeholderstounderstand and evaluate areas ofpolicyalignment andidentifygaps;communicatesthe PG&Edecarbonizationposition effectivelyand acrossfunctions to influence decisions.

  • Leadsthe team's strategic engagement work - includingcreation and preparation of professional presentation materials,thephysical and logisticcoordination of meetingsand site visits,supportingoperating reviews atthe Net Zero Command Center, and developing high qualityand compellingcommunications materials to engage PG&E leadership, internal program management teams,external stakeholders, and customersas required.

  • Support the team's commercial workincluding aiding in thedevelopment and execution of external contracts, like non-disclosure agreements, andsomeproject management asrequired.

  • Facilitates collaboration among internal teams, ensuring projects progress effectively and consensus is reached on key decisions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in economics,public policy,statistics, mathematics, business, finance, sociology, engineering, physics or other related fields or equivalent work experience

  • Six or more years of relevant experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Three or moreyearsperforming analytic work related to electric or natural gas policy, planning, regulation, or wholesale markets.

  • Performing project management, product development or analytic work related to electric or natural gas policy, pilots, planning, regulation, or wholesale markets.

  • Understanding of electric and/or gas system operations and engineering principlesandelectric and gas utility regulations and regulatory process

  • Superior writing skills; proven experience in formal and legal writing

  • Collaborativewithhigh organizational awareness. Respectfully builds trust with diversestakeholder.

  • Experience crafting highstakes communications (decks, exec memos, dashboards) with impeccable narrative and visual standards.

  • Hands-on event/meeting operations experience including endtoendlogisticscoordination

  • Proficiencyin managing multipleproceedingssimultaneously, prioritizing, and delivering quality results on time

  • Can effectively communicate with credibility,confidenceand clarityhighly complexideas to diverse audiences
