Texas NeuroRehab Center is a specialized treatment facility located ten minutes from downtown Austin on 67 wooded acres. We have served the Austin community for over 60-years and are proud of our history and tenured leadership team.

Today, Texas NeuroRehab Center provides complex medical and brain injury rehab for ages 13 years and older and neurobehavioral residential treatment services for children and adolescents. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges.

Texas NeuroRehab Center is currently accepting applications for a Behavior Analyst. This position is an exciting opportunity to support children and youth with developmental, emotional, and behavioral health issues who are living in residential treatment through the use of positive behavioral supports interventions. The Behavioral Support Specialist provides behavioral consultation and care coordination, and assists in the development and implementation of supportive behavioral services and supports. The qualified candidate will be able to provide education and support to diverse treatment stakeholders. The position requires competence in assisting in the implementation and refinement of existing Tier I (campus-wide) Positive Behavior Interventions, and (as needed) coordinating with the broader treatment team in developing Tier II behavioral interventionsfor students requiring alternative strategies to support their behavioral success or in developing individualized and student-specific Tier III behavioral interventions.

Qualifications

The following are the job requirements for the Behavior Analyst position:

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES: The candidate will exhibit excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with staff, residents, and additional child stakeholders. The successful candidate will be able to model and implement behavior strategies to support residents struggling with behavior and educate staff in the process. The ideal candidate will exhibit sound judgment in dealing with people, have strong organizational skills, and be able to maintain harmonious relationships with staff and residents. The competitive candidate will exhibit cultural competence, is a reflective learner, and is innovative.

EDUCATION: Master's Degree in applied behavior analysis, special education, psychology or related discipline

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA, as certified by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Expert knowledge of intervention planning for developing behavior change strategies that focus on reducing problem behaviors and increasing appropriate behaviors. Preferred - Experience working within a residential treatment setting.

PHYSICAL/GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to lift 25 pounds with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 35 pounds. Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Able to use a computer and/or write for extended periods of time. Hearing, vision, and emotional stability sufficient to perform essential job functions. Able to communicate in writing and verbally. Able to make rapid decisions in stressful situations.
