Application Window Open date: March 12, 2026 Next review date: Monday, Apr 13, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Friday, Apr 17, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Durstenfeld and Hsue laboratory in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology at UCLA, is recruiting a highly motivated Specialist at the Assistant, Associate, or full rank, to support our research program in cardiopulmonary exercise testing and interpretation. The Specialist will perform cardiopulmonary exercise testing locally and oversee quality control and interpretation for research studies conducting cardiopulmonary testing at other sites, working closely with Dr. Durstenfeld to oversee the CPET core lab and standard operating procedures. Duties will include developing protocols, site initiation, real-time data quality monitoring, measurement of key physiological variables, CPET interpretation, case report form development, and study team training, and may also include development of structured exercise training protocols for research. Appointees in the Specialist series will be expected to engage in specialized research, professional activities and do not have teaching responsibilities. Specialists are expected to use their professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions, and may participate in University and Public Service.
