Job Title: Model-Based Systems Engineer - Remote
Location: Hazelwood, MO 63042
Duration: 6 months assignment with possible extension
Shift Schedule: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $60-70/hr. on W2 without benefits
Role & Responsibilities:
- Support/lead system architecture development and decomposition using MBSE (SysML/Cameo) to define interfaces, functions, and allocation across multiple domains.
- Support/lead cross-functional engineering teams in developing systems to meet program commitments, including support of design reviews.
- Support/lead the program in implementing MBSE as part of broad digital engineering ecosystem.
- Support/lead Systems Engineering efforts such as requirements decomposition, system architecture, system analysis, specification development, trade studies, program planning, interfaces management, risk management, certification planning & execution, verification & test planning, and overall integration and capture them in the MBSE model as appropriate
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience with MBSE, Cameo/MSOSA, and/or SysML.
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Prior Systems Engineering experience to include but not limited to system design, functional decomposition, requirements development, analysis, verification, and validation.
- 5+ years of work-related engineering experience with a Bachelor's or 3+ years of work-related engineering experience with a relevant Master's or PhD.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience developing system architectures for complex aerospace vehicles or subsystems using MBSE (SysML/MSOSA).
- Prior leadership in system architecture or lead systems engineering roles; experience communicating architectural tradeoffs to stakeholders and customers.
- Understanding of various engineering analyses, including affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
- Familiarity with aircraft/flight systems and domain-specific engineering (ME, EE, SW) to evaluate integration impacts.
